Dr. Keki R. Sidhwa, N.D., D.O. (1926–2018) was one of the most well-known advocates of Natural Hygiene in the United Kingdom during his time. Born in Bombay, India, to Parsi Zoroastrian parents, he studied at Bombay University before graduating from the Edinburgh College of Natural Therapeutics and the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy.
Dr. Sidhwa entered private practice in 1952 and continued until his semi-retirement in 2004. He co-founded and served as President of the British National Hygiene Society, and was a past President of the International Association of Professional Natural Hygienists. He also founded and directed the Shalimar Health Home, where he helped over 25,000 people recover from chronic ailments through fasting and the Hygienic lifestyle, before the center closed in 2004.
He was a frequent lecturer throughout Europe, India, the United States, and Great Britain, where he made his home from 1948. His lifelong interest in anthropology, primitive cultures, and comparative religions deeply informed his holistic approach to natural living. He also served as Editor of The Hygienist, the oldest publication of its kind at the time.
